Moot Program

The moot programme will consist of two parts driven by the patrol system as a method.

  1. Five days in the sub-camps (villages)
  2. Five days, all together at the main campsite in Nairobi, Rowallan

The program in the sub-camps and at Rowallan will include;

  1. Expeditions

The expeditions will enable scouts to discover Kenya, discover limits of personal endurance, build teamwork and exercise decision making as they have fun.

The expeditions will be through Hills, Tropical Forests, Rocky Mountains etc

       2. Tours and visits

To discover the beauty of Kenya and the people in the communities, as well as learn different aspects in the visit sites, possibly;

  • BP Memorial Park
  • Bomas of Kenya
  • Animal Orphanage

       3. Community service

Rover will be able to put their motto into action. They will participate in different jobs in order to develop the community.

They will undertake permanent projects that will create a positive impression about scouting to the community.

      4. Global development village

Participants will come together to discuss issues affecting them with an African perspective and interact with current innovations exhibited by the different exhibitors.

       5. Recreational activities

Participants will discover and exploit their talents by taking part in both indoor and outdoor activities involving games, sports, music, obstacle challenge, assault course, art, orienteering and pioneering, Swahili corner, team building

      6. Cultural evening

Participants will enjoy cultural relationships, demonstrate cultural diversity in music, food, attire and dance in the villages.

Participants will be entertained with music and dance in each of the ethnical groups surrounding the expedition centers.

     7. Carnival night

This will be an evening full of music and talent search in terms of music and dance in the main site culminating into the crowning of  Mr. & Miss 1ST African Rover Moot 2023.

    8. Mega camp fire in the villages

This will be the typical scout camp fire in the villages

    9. Kenya Experience

This will be a special treat. A farewell barbeque and Kenyan Cuisine with dance and music on the last day prior to departure

   10. Opening and Closing Ceremonies

Participants will have an opportunity to experience colorful main site opening and closing ceremonies.

Back at the villages, there will be opportunities for boma opening.
